Aston UniversityWe offer a range of taught MSc programmes in subject areas relating to the work being carried out by our Research Groups. That means students experience the benefits of the latest research at first hand. Several options including part-time enrolment, conducting research projects back in industry or studying through distance learning are available. Aston is very proud of its leading edge research in Engineering and Applied Science. Our excellence was nationally recognised in 2001 when the School achieved a coveted Grade 5 rating in the Research Assessment Exercise. At Aston we believe in research that is dedicated to solving problems critical to the real needs of industry and other sectors. We have a number of focused and multi-disciplinary Research Institutes to help us do this. All of our Research Institutes have a record of successful collaboration with industry, particularly through research programmes funded by the EPSRC and Teaching Company Schemes among others. Relevance is a key factor for all the activities at Aston so our research programmes allow students to keep in touch with key developments in their fields. All the Institutes are well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and extensive laboratory facilities, as you'd expect and we welcome students from all the major science and engineering disciplines.
