The Schools distinguished history dates from 1947 when the United Kingdoms first Department of Electronics was opened in Southampton. Since then it has encompassed both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and grown steadily in scale and in reputation.

Electronic Engineering and Electronics


Maths A-Level and a physical science (preferably Physics) A-level are required.

Computer Engineering


Maths A-level and a science A-level are required.

Computer Science & Software Engineering


B in Maths A-level.

Electrical and Electromechanical Engineering


C in Maths A-level and C in Physics A-level.

Electronics for Biomedicine (2005 intake)


Maths A-Level and a physical science A-level are required.


If the physical science A-level is not in chemistry, an AS level in chemistry is required.
Alternative Qualifications...

International Baccalaureate: 33 points overall minimum.

Scottish Higher Certificate plus certificate of 6th year studies in Maths and Physics.

BTEC HND; HNC BTEC: Distinction in Maths at level H plus high average marks in other relevant subjects at level N or H.

Advanced GNVQ: Distinction plus A-level Maths at grade B.
