It aims to fulfil the mission set by the University to meet the challenge of providing quality 21st century medical care through the education and training as well as continuing professional development for doctors and biomedical scientists at hospitals, clinics, blood banks and practices. The Institute works with senior medical practitioners and biomedical scientists in the region to form a partnership that develop and improve medical care in the region.In developing approaches and solutions to the challenges facing the medical and biomedical professions, the institute utilises resources wider than a single University in order to enhance the learner `s experience by drawing on a number of distinguished consultants and visiting Professors to support its work. Through its strong links with medical schools in France, Germany, USA and United Kingdom it provides access to some of the leading biomedical and medical research in specific areas outlined in the research activity of its academic staff.
